Divers Thomas Montiero and Flavia Passaglia from Brazil and their Canadian friend Brian Thompson were recently diving at Costa Rica’s Manta Islands when they saw something quite incredible. A huge giant manta ray approached them and began acting strangely. Almost as if it needed help. The three of them soon noticed that the ray was badly caught up in some fishing wires and was in dire trouble.
So they set about freeing the poor little (well, massive!) thing:
