We just use AA batteries for powering things like MP3 players and things, but there’s quite a few cool tricks that you can do with them. You can make simple electric train sets or even start fires with them! And now we’ve got another sweet trick you can pull with just an AA battery and a few other simple things. Just grab a little watch battery and some copper wire and you’re good to go…
Bend the wire in a certain way and affix it to the batteries and you’ll have made ‘a homopolar motor’. It’s a neat little trick and it’d make for a great little science trick for kids.
