Grant and Linda Hickey thought that perhaps adopting a dog from the ASPCA (American Society For The Protection Of Cruelty Against Animals) might help their son Johnny. Little Johnny had recently been diagnosed with autism. But which dog to choose? Well, after they saw a story about the poor abused young pup Xena on television, they knew it had to be her. And the relationship that blossomed between the kid and the dog was truly phenomenal.
