She may have a pretty face and only be 18 years old, but Julia Vins is one tough lady. You’ve only got to look at her below the neck to realize that she’s not a girl to be messed with! The Russian is a powerlifter. One who can deadlift more than 400 lbs!
You wouldn’t know to look at her fully dressed, but Vins has three powerlifting world records too. She says that her appearance and unusual lifestyle draws attention. ‘Guys who are negative about my athleticism are just jealous’, she says.
Her captivating mixture of beauty and strength has attracted a big following in her native Russia. She currently has over 23,000 Instagram followers.
Her nickname is ‘Muscle Barbie’.
‘I have these big, beautiful eyes and wear make-up. But at the same time, I’m strong. I can deadlift 180kg in training. I want to become as big as possible.’

‘Everyone has an opinion on what I look like – they either respect my work or reprimand me for being a muscly girl.’
‘Because of my facial features, people have always said I look like a doll,. And I was a good, academic girl for so many years. I studied music, was well-read, participated in various school competitions and was skilled at art. But I never felt like I had any particular objective in life. My body was not in harmony with my soul – it wasn’t the right one for me.’
