Nikki Shelly isn’t even a professional make-up artist and yet she’s come up with a whole host of totally amazing – and hugely scary! – characters that she’s face painted onto herself. If you’re skilled with paints and looking for Halloween face painting ideas, then you’ve come to the right place!

The Mummy. Incidentally, Nikki is the mummy to three young kids and lives in Rugby, Warwickshire, England.
With her work spilling out on to the internet now, she’s even had messages from Russell Davies, the creator of Doctor Who. He commended her on her work. Maybe there’s a job in the pipeline…?
Now this one is proper freaky…

Is this Freddy Krueger? Whoever it is, it’s ruddy grotesque.
Not bad considering Nikki’s had no formal training, huh?
She says that she’d like to work in film or TV one day though.
And on this evidence, who’s to say she couldn’t?!
She says of her work: “I started to think of ways I could make my work different. I wanted to stand out and try new things.”
