When this kitten was brought into a vet in Istanbul, Turkey, the outlook was bleak. The cat, who was just four weeks old when she was rescued from the side of the road, was half eaten by worms; one of her ears, her lips, and most of her tongue were gone. The poor mite was given the name Gülümser, which translates from Turkish to ‘she who always smiles’.
But little Gülümser was not about to give up on life. She was a fighter! She showed remarkable strength and determination in pulling through from her ordeal. As the video shows, she goes from a scraggy, tiny, worm ridden kitten, to a healthy and vivacious cat.
