On a joint helicopter raid in the Now Zad district in Afghanistan’s Helmand Province last year, a US Maine had a very lucky escape. Out of nowhere, the Marines came under Taliban sniper fire. They heard a shot – BAM! A direct hit. Right to the head. Luckily, the soldier shot was wearing his Kevlar helmet and survived completely unscathed! The feeling of relief is palpable amongst the squad – this video really does show the fear and horror of war. And also how important helmets are!
