If you’ve ever eaten a McDonald’s cheeseburger and wondered what happens to it once it’s inside you (although we wouldn’t blame you if you hadn’t), then we’ve got the video for you. You won’t be massively surprised to learn that it’s all a bit horrible. A professor from the University of Nottingham decided to submerge a cheeseburger in a small vat of concentrated hydrochloric acid to simulate what happens in your stomach after you’ve hungrily munched down a burger.
Four hours later and the results are pretty grim:
