In November 2012, 13-year-old Lourdes Guzman-DeJesus was travelling to school with her classmates in Miami, Florida. Also on the bus was her friend Jordyn Howe. Jordyn had brought his stepfather’s gun with him to show off. He fired it at the floor of the bus. Nothing. It wasn’t loaded, he thought. So, playing around he aimed at his pal Lourdes and ‘shot’ her. Only the gun was loaded, it had just jammed last time. A bullet went into Lourdes’ neck. She didn’t survive.
