We all know that Mother Nature is capable of producing some truly jaw droppingly beautiful things when she puts her mind to it. All the colors of the rainbow are available to see if you’ve got the time to gaze upon nature and spot them. But if you’re rushed for time and want to see the most amazingly colorful natural wonders on earth, the place to go is the Far East. Specifically, the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, and Indonesia. For there, you can behold all the majesty that are… Rainbow eucalyptus trees!
Check them out, they’re so cool (and not just a little bit weird!):
The trees are a normal deep green/brown color until the bark starts to peel away, revealing a bright color underneath. As the bark peels off at different times, many shades of neon can be seen, giving the kooky rainbow effect.
These rainbow eucalyptus trees go from brown to bright green and then to a dark green. Then it’s blue, purple, pink, orange, red, burgundy, and then back to brown! Then the brown layers peel off again and the cycle begins all over again!
The Latin name for these wonderful trees is ‘Eucalyptus Deglupta’ and they grow up to six feet wide and two hundred feet tall. They’re mainly used for pulping into things like paper. Which seems like a bit of a shame what with them being so darn beautiful.
Have you ever seen anything like it before?!
Sometimes nature really is stranger than fiction, isn’t it?!
