If I asked you to name a tough, physical sport, I doubt many of you would say football. Sure it’s a contact sport, you’d say, but it doesn’t have the same rough and tumble of rugby or ice hockey. Well, football is a much more physical sport than you might imagine. As those who play the game will tell you, within 90 minutes there are enough tackles flying about to crush a man several times over.
But throw ins? They’re safe enough, right? Wrong. In this game, we see a player gearing up to take an attacking throw for his side. He lines up to throw it into the penalty area with all his might. What happens next? Ouch!
