This is Jonathan Pitre. Just like most 14 year olds, he is sports mad. He particularly loves Ice Hockey, and hopes to be a professional player when he becomes an adult.
However, Jonathan is different to most children his age in an extreme way. He suffers from a rare skin condition called Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). According to DEBRA, EB is:
“A group of genetic skin conditions which cause the skin to blister and tear at the slightest touch. Painful open wounds and sores form where this exceptionally fragile skin is damaged – in some cases, internal linings and organs are also affected. Complications as a result of secondary infection and extensive scarring are factors that people living with EB often have to face.”
