Dr. Gail Anderson and Dr. Lynne Bell from Simon Fraser University decided to see what happens to someone when they sleep with the fishes. But instead of upsetting the Mafia, they thought it might be slightly easier to find out the answer by conducting a forensic experiment. But, not having connections to the mob, getting their hands on a dead body would have been tricky. Luckily for them, a pig’s cadaver works in very much the same way.
The information learned from this investigation could well prove invaluable in future human death investigations. Understanding how scavenger marks work could be key for forensic investigators.
