Most houses, when you really think about it, are quite big. Sure, we all like a bit of space. But often, we live in places that could easily fit more people in. So it could be said that it’s a bit of a waste. Okay, in America, where space and population isn’t a huge worry, it’s not a pressing issue. But in more densely populated countries such as Japan, the problem of space is a very real one. That why Japanese architects have set up the ‘Tiny House Movement’. Mizuishi Architects Atelier have designed a very special ‘tiny house’.
Check it out in all its tiny glory!
Seen head on, it really is tiny! It’s not all that wide, either. So it must be really pokey inside, right?
Well, no. Not exactly. The architects have used space efficiently and cleverly. Not a single square inch is wasted here. It’s only 594 square foot, but it has everything you could want from a house.
There’s even two bedrooms – have a look at the top room… Perfect as a nursery or even for older kids.
It really is deceptively spacious inside…
Here’s a weird fact for you: There are 2.5 architects for every 1,000 residents in Japan. Doesn’t sound a lot? Well, it is when you consider that in the United States, there are only only 0.33 architects per every 1,000 people!
What a beautiful bedroom!
There’s room for everything you’d want from your bathroom too.
And even a decent amount of kitchen space!
So… What do you think? Could you see yourself living in a ‘Tiny House’ like this one here?
