Checker Games
Free checkers in your browser, against the computer or a friend
Checker Games is a browser checkers board that opens straight into a game, with no signup. You can play the computer at three difficulty levels or pass the screen to a friend. There are board skins to pick from, other draughts variants like international and Russian, and written guides on rules, openings and endgames.
Our verdict
A clean, no-fuss place to play checkers online for free. The American game is on the homepage and ready to go, the computer opponent has three levels so beginners and regulars both get a game, and the rules and strategy pages explain things like mandatory captures and kings. It suits a quick game or learning the rules properly.
Why we like it: No account, no download, and the board is on the first screen. Two-player on one screen works well for a coffee break, and the variants page covers international, Brazilian and Russian draughts so you can move on once American rules feel easy.
The catch: The site shows ads, and the homepage board plays American rules only. The other variants live on their own pages, and head-to-head play is on a shared screen rather than across the internet.
