DailyDigest
Top news stories, ranked by how many outlets cover them
DailyDigest pulls the articles about one event into a single story, writes one plain headline for it, and lists every outlet that covered it with its own headline and how long ago it published. The order is not hand-picked. The stories that lead are the ones most independent newsrooms are reporting. There are separate editions for the US, UK, Ireland, Canada and Australia.
Our verdict
A useful way to see which top news stories really matter and which are one outlet's push. Seeing every outlet's headline side by side, with who reported first and which sit behind a paywall, makes it easy to pick where to read. It links out rather than copying articles, so you always end up on the original site.
Why we like it: It counts independent coverage honestly: outlets with one owner count once and copied wire headlines count once. Press releases, sponsored posts, betting tips and quizzes are kept off the board. You can follow outlets and topics, and no account is needed to read.
The catch: Some stories link to outlets with paywalls. The site flags them, but you may still hit one. It shows headlines and sources only, so you will not get full articles or summaries in place of the outlet's own reporting.
