NeoReader is a free QR code generator that lets you design codes with your own logo, colors, dot styles and Scan me frames. Codes can hold links, Wi-Fi details, contacts and events, and download as PNG, SVG or print-ready PDF. It also includes a QR code scanner, a bulk generator and a barcode maker.
Our verdict
A QR code generator that does not hold your code hostage. There is no sign-up or watermark, and free codes point straight at your link, so they keep working. The scanner reads codes from a screenshot, photo or webcam and flags suspicious links before you open them. Bulk mode turns a pasted list or CSV into a ZIP of styled codes.
Why we like it: Free codes hold your link directly rather than routing through someone else's server, so nothing expires after a trial. Design options are generous for a free tool, and the scanner's link safety check is a useful extra when a code arrives from a stranger.
The catch: Free codes are static, so you cannot change the link once a code is printed. Editable codes and scan analytics are part of a paid Pro plan that is not available yet.
