Squirm.io
A multiplayer worm game where size costs you turning, not speed.
Squirm.io drops you into a shared arena with every other worm currently online. Steer with the mouse or arrow keys, eat glowing pellets to grow longer, and cut other worms off so their own head runs into a body — yours or anyone else's. Get cut off yourself and you're the one who dies. There's no download, no install and no account: load the page and you're playing.
Our verdict
The mechanical decision that makes this worth a look next to Slither.io or Agar.io: speed here is constant regardless of length, so a worm of 10,000 moves exactly as fast as a worm of 10. Size only costs you turning circle, which keeps giants killable instead of letting the match stall into a handful of untouchable size leaders — the failure mode that eventually kills most snake io games.
Why we like it: Dying gives back 65% of your length as pellets instead of vanishing outright, so a kill actually redistributes the board rather than just erasing a player. Combined with the no-speed-penalty rule, that keeps matches churning instead of freezing into a few dominant worms everyone avoids — the exact stagnation that similar worm games rarely solve.
The catch: No private rooms yet — everyone in a region shares the same public arenas, so playing with a specific friend means both loading the game at the same time and hoping you land together. Fine for a solo session, less good if you wanted a closed lobby.
