Wordplay

Wordle unlimited and a free daily word game, no account needed

Wordplay is a daily five-letter word game with six guesses per puzzle, and it plays the way Wordle fans expect. The difference is in the extras: every past puzzle is free in the archive, and you pick US, UK or Australian spelling for the word list. If one word a day is not enough, unlimited mode lets you play as many rounds as you like.

Our verdict

If you want wordle unlimited without a one-a-day limit, this is a clean place to do it. Unlimited rounds run from four to eleven letters, the archive is free to play, and the tiles carry symbols as well as colors. It is a solid daily word game on its own, with crosswords, word search and spelling bee games alongside.

Why we like it: The archive is free and needs no account, which is the part most people go looking for. Each tile has a symbol as well as a color, so you never have to tell two colors apart. Spelling follows the dictionary you choose, so a British or Australian player is not marked wrong for a valid word.

The catch: The daily puzzle is one word a day. Unlimited mode is there when you want more rounds, and the archive covers the rest.
