Halloween is nearly upon us. It’s a fun time of the year, especially for kids. They get dressed up, grab their big plastic bucket and head out trick ‘r treating. But for some kids and parents, it’s a testing time. As many as one in every thirteen children in the United States have allergies. Which means all the candy needs to be inspected thoroughly and much of it thrown away.
So some clever parents have put their heads together and come up with ‘The Teal Pumpkin Project’. Basically, you paint a pumpkin teal colored and that lets other parents – and kids – know that you’re offering non-food-based treats as well as regular candy. Pencils, stickers, toys, whatever. It’s pretty cool!
