Volusia County emergency dispatch out of Daytona Beach, Florida, received a call on the morning of Friday 18th July from an angry-sounding man who explained a tawdry and violent recent set of events to them. The unnamed man (his identity has been withheld to protect him and his family) explained how he had discovered another man intimately assaulting his 11 year-old child and had beaten the perpetrator with his ‘fist and foot’ until he was unconscious and lying in a pool of his own blood.
The shocking call was put in by the father who can be heard occasionally breaking off from the emergency call to continue to shout at the 18 year-old man. The accused will face charges of molestation and battery of a child. You can listen to the 911 call here:
“I don’t see anything we should charge the dad with,” said Daytona Police Chief Michael Chitwood. He went on: “You have an 18-year-old man who has clearly picked his target, groomed his target and had his way with the victim multiple times. When the victim sat on the 18-year-old’s lap, he knew what was next. The young man was in fear that if he didn’t comply, he would get hurt. As a father I understand what he was doing. He had the right to protect his child.”
As yet, the father faces no criminal charge.
