Japenese electronics and robotics company Yaskawa celebrated its 100th birthday recently by coming up with something truly special. The ‘Yaskawaw Bushido’ project pitted man against machine in the most extreme way by putting sword their skills to the test. They recruited 5 time Iaijutsu world champion and all-round ninja sword master Isao Machii to face off against one of their Motoman-MH24s that they’d taught (with the help of Machii and some clever 3D technology) to expertly swing a sword.
