Recently, Lizzy, a koala living in Australia, was struck by a car with her son, Phantom, clinging to her side. Phantom was uninjured, but Lizzy was in a critical condition. When she was rushed to a veterinary hospital in a local zoo, Phantom was still attached to his mother. 6 month old Phantom refused to leave his mother.
Lizzy had a collapsed lung, and required surgery. Yet Phantom still refused to leave. So when Lizzy went into the operating theater, he came along too.
According to the hospital, Lizzy has responded well to the surgery, and is on the mend. And yes, Phantom is still by her side!
What a heartwarming story!
