There’s nothing more upsetting than seeing an animal in peril. Caught and afraid, they panic. And it makes for traumatizing viewing. No one wants to sit back and witness such a sight, humanity’s natural reaction is to help out. And it’s exactly that instinct that drove Indian villagers to club together recently and assist a wild leopard which had become trapped down a well. The big cat had fallen in and there was no natural way for it to escape. Frightened, the leopard looked doomed until the villagers pitched in.
Using a makeshift ladder, a net and some serious dedication and willpower, the people helping out spent some time coming up with a plan and then expertly put it into place. And what they achieved was really quite special…
