Everyone seems to play the guitar these days. Walk into the bedroom of any teenage boy or girl and I guarantee there will be a Fender, Gibson or the like sitting in the corner. Whilst this is undoubtedly a good thing, it is making it harder and harder for would-be musicians to stand out. Folks have had to up their games, not only through making the most of their playing talent, but also in finding novel ways of using the instrument.
That’s certainly what Tobias Rauscher did. Not only is he an incredibly skilled guitarist, he also incorporates percussion into his playing by tapping the body and neck of his instrument. The style, known as percussive guitar, involves a mesmerizing blend of finger picking and hollow beats.
