In a small town in South Carolina recently, eleven year old La’Darious Wylie and his little sister Sha’Vonta were waiting at a bus stop, just like they did every day. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a car came speeding towards them. It was veering dangerously. The driver had no control. She was just about to drive straight into little Sha’Vonta when La’Darious reacted. Her pushed his sister out of harm’s way and was struck.
The hit-and-run incident happened on October 27th. Not long afterwards, in hospital, poor brave La’Darious died. He’d made the ultimate sacrifice for the younger sister he loved so much. He’d acted on instinct, not caring for his own safety, it was only the well-being of his angelic younger sibling that he cared for in that split second.
The cowardly driver involved in the hit-and-run fled the scene, but was tracked down two days later by police. 57-year-old Michelle Johnson was charged with a felony and could spend the next 25 years in prison.
