Smaller houses are growing in popularity in the USA and we think we may have found one of the smallest. Yet it’s so cool! As people consider costs more and also veer towards a desire to live a simpler and more environmentally-friendly existence, smaller houses are getting the nod from homeowners more and more. Downsizing can also free up much needed equity, which is always good, isn’t it?! And as they’re cheaper, it’s quicker to pay off the mortgage, freeing up cash earlier.
The average American home comes in about around 2,500 square feet. But the average ‘tiny home’ is around 300-400 sq. ft. They’re a lot smaller, but they have everything that a regular home has. Just less space!
Heating prices are so much lower too. Incredibly, a tiny home costs less than $10 a month to heat!
Check out this beautiful mini home here. It’s almost ten times smaller than a ‘normal’ home. But it’s so sweet and has everything you need.
There’s a double bed too – it’s not that small! This particular house was created by a man called Chris Heininge. Chris claims he was inspired by the time he spent in Japan.
The average tiny home costs about $20,000, but they can be built for as little as $8,000!
What do you think? Could you be tempted to downsize?
