He Starts Singing A Soul Classic. But Wait And See Who Joins In!

Where I live, the buskers suck. It’s usually a half drunk guy with a terrible voice belting out Wonderwall for the 25th time that day, or some kid trying to play an instrument she only started learning 5 minutes ago. I’ve certainly never seen anything like the guys in this video before.

Playing For Change was a project started by Mark Johnson and Whitney Kroenke in 2002. The pair began recording buskers and other street artists, then layering them on top of one another to create a vast wall of singing voices, thus connecting performers from all over America. The project was the subject of the award-winning documentary “A Cinematic Discovery of Street Musicians.”
